Have you ever been out and needed cash and just WISHED that the ATM across the road was your own bank’s ATM? Well, according to IOL, ABSA is joining other banks, including FNB, in their bid to remove the fees you have to pay to use other banks’ ATMs.

Travelling around the world has shown me that we are still behind the rest of the world in ripping off customers. When I was working in Ireland it was a great thing being able to draw your money from any ATM you found with being charged extra for it. (Was I charged at all??? I can’t remember).

I guess Virgin Mobile, Virgin Money and Barclays coming to South Africa have started great things…
