New Easy Money Website and Forum

It’s been a while since I wrote anything here. Life’s been a little hectic.

But, things are building up, and I’m starting to focus on things that are important, and profitable.

One of those things is this website.

Believe it or not, this website was actually one of the very first websites I created about 4 years ago.

It was EXTREMELY basic back then, but I like to think it’s grown a little since then. It has a few more readers and a little more information.

On that note, I wanted to write this article to highlight a few things that have changed.

New Making Easy Money Website Look

I’ve completely changed the way the website looks and feels. It IS a little more complicated, BUT, I feel that it shows more information at once.

I’m planning on building this site up a little more, so the better looking the site, and the more information that is readily accessible, the better.

Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and what looks good to me might not look good to you.

So, if you are reading this by email, please do me a favour and pay the site a visit. Let me know what you think, and if you see anything that’s broken or could be improved. I REALLY value your input, because just like comedies and stories, this site is meant to be shared.

Forums added to the New Site

Along with the new look and layout, I’ve added a forum section to the site.

This is where YOU, my VALUED readers, can play a BIG part.

I believe most people want to be heard, and want to learn as well.

The best way to do that is ASK QUESTIONS, and READ RESPONSES.

First born children are geniuses

Wait. No! Maybe that’s just me

But according to Health24, 1st born children have a slightly higher IQ than their siblings…

This finding held true even when first-born children didn’t survive and a younger child was reared as the eldest, scuttling the idea that genetics determines the difference in IQ among siblings, according to the Norwegian researchers who authored the report, published in the June 22 issue of the journal Science.

Don’t tell my family, but I KNEW it!

But with great power comes great responsibility, and being smarter means having to show it.

So, I guess I are putting on my jean pants tonite when I is going out to the dicsco!

Google Talk and MORE on all Mobile Phones

Ok, forget about IM+ (read what I said here: “Google Talk on iMate phones“). I tried this application for a while and it was ok, but I still think it’s a bit expensive, and it didn’t function as well as I expected it to.

Go take a look at Talkonaut.

I don’t really know what to say about this app other than it is BRILLIANT!!! Why? It just works. And not only can you use it to communicate with your Google Talk buddies on Windows Mobile, but this is the equivalent of Google Talk on Mobile Phones! Let me just quote the Talkonaut website for more details, as they say it best:

Google Talk on iMate phones

I am a heavy user of “Google Talk“. And never wanting to be disconnected, I’ve wanted to use Google Talk on my iMate kJam (also known as HTC Wizard) for a long time. Unfortunately, the geniuses at Google have not yet developed a version of Google Talk for Windows Mobile 5, which is what I am using on my iMate kJam.

To counter that, I went in search of an IM (Instant Messaging) application that would allow my iMate phone to connect to the Google Talk servers. The top results in web searches are always pointing to IM+, which is an application for Windows Mobile that lets you connect to ICQ, AOL, MSN, Yahoo!, Jabber AND Google Talk, all from your Windows Mobile Phone. So, I downloaded it (which you can do by clicking here:IM+), and am running it now to see how it works out.

So far, here are the PROs and CONs…

PROs:

– You receive notifications similar to “New SMS” notifications when you receive new messages
– Can connect to all of the above servers, not just Google Talk
– Allows you to see who’s online (which is expected, but cool that it works anyway)
– REAL easy to set up
– Easy enough to use
– You can set it to sign in automatically

CONs:

– More an issue with the phone, but when you receive a call, it disconnects your GPRS connection, disconnecting your from all the servers
– Obviously, be careful of your data charges (downfall of your Service Provider, not the package)
– A tad expensive to buy, though worth it depending on how much you use it

If you use this, or are planning on using this to communicate on Google Talk, please let me know how it goes.

Virgin Mobile in South Africa

In a recent post entitled “Virgin Money in South Africa” I mentioned some of the benefits and features of getting a Virgin Money Credit Card. Well, Mr Branson and his Virgins are still taking over South Africa. And it seems like a good thing.

Virgin Mobile is a supposed answer to the current, somewhat monopolistic state of affairs of the cellphone industry in South Africa. Anyway, what do I think of Virgin Mobile? I think it’s good. Not perfect, still expensive, but it’s DEFINITELY “cheaper” than the other options (being Cellc, MTN and Vodacom).

Here is how I think it’s cheaper:

- You are not tied to a contract in the normal sense. From what I can see, you pay off your phone interest free over 6, 12 or 24 months. If suddenly you decide to change contracts, and you have spare cash, you can pay off your phone and leave. Unlike the other service providers where you pay off your phone, and then through your nose for the lost life savings they won’t be able to take from you

- You know what you are paying for. Seems insignificant? Lucky you. The most irritating things in today’s advertising is the asterisk and the phrase “Terms and conditions apply”. Only problem is, sometimes that asterisk doesn’t even LEAD to the full disclosure. It appears to with Virgin Mobile.

- You don’t have to pay for things you don’t want. Like Itemised billing or Caller Id. On Vodacom, they have GREAT specials. You can get a phone for only R39 a month*. SEE THAT ASTERISK!!! It means you still have to pay extra for Caller ID and Itemised Billing. Which are compulsory.

So, all in all, having a Virgin Mobile contract might work out to roughly the same as your current MTN contract, but at least you know what you’re getting, and you’re not chained to the chair as well…

Free MP3s – Cheap Music

If you want to save money buying music, then here’s and offer you shoudn’t be able to refuse. It’s from a company called eMusic and they offer a subscription service to download a certain number of MP3s per month.

Why do I think this is a good idea? Well, because you could end up paying only 25c a song. And THAT’S the most EXPENSIVE price.

But, I did mention free MP3s. That’s because, if you go and sign up for a free trial, you will receive 25 FREE MP3s. You will have to enter your credit card info for the free trial so that they can ensure that you only get 1 free trial, but it’s easily cancelled after the free trial.

Just one tip: don’t over-extend yourself. You might sign up for the free trial and realise that they have over 1 million songs to choose from. Then you’re hooked… So think about it carefully before going to the site.

From the classics like Johnny Cash to the new and GREATLY popular Michael Buble, there’s surely something for everyone. If you DO try this out, I would love to hear other people’s feedback. Please come back and leave a comment below…

Get a job you deserve

If you know you would perform well at a job, even though you are a party animal, or wild thing, or any other corny phrase, be careful what you put online. Unless it benefits your career prospects, it might actually be used against you.

The New York Times has an article online about how some prospective employers are using the internet to research possible candidates, and passing on candidates that have some pretty “interesting” online details.

For example:

Curious about the candidate, Ms. Homayoun went to her page on Facebook. She found explicit photographs and commentary about the student’s sexual escapades, drinking and pot smoking, including testimonials from friends. Among the pictures were shots of the young woman passed out after drinking.

“I was just shocked by the amount of stuff that she was willing to publicly display,” Ms. Homayoun said. “When I saw that, I thought, ‘O.K., so much for that.’ “

So, be careful what you reveal. Unless you’re looking for a job as a terrorist, don’t do go doing what the following candidate did online:

…a recruiter had told her he rejected an applicant after searching the name of the student, a chemical engineering major, on Google. Among the things the recruiter found, she said, was this remark: “I like to blow things up.”

Money Making Ideas

In my previous post, “Make Easy Money – An example” I directed you to the picture of a $901,000 check. Well, the owner of that check has another post in which he gives a few ideas on how to make a site that could have HUGE potential.

There are a LOT of big sites out there. I mean, look at MySpace.com, eBay, digg.com, etc… But his ideas on how to be #1 in a market are very good starting points, though they’re not over-night development projects.

Here’s a taste:

1. A free monster.com clone, maybe with a ebay like reputation system.

2. A social networking/ stock/money portal with a built in digg.com clone to highlight user generated “research reports” or “articles”.
